Authentic Italian Food Recipes

It does not have to be difficult to enjoy delicious Italian food. There are many resources that provide authentic Italian food recipes, as well as information on where to purchase all of the necessary ingredients. Many of these resources also offer guidance on preparation methods, types of cookware, and special instruments and appliances that may be needed.

When making authentic Italian food recipes, you will notice most them use some variation of cheese; appetizers use pickling and marinating techniques, and may include garlic, fresh vegetables, and meats such as salami, pepperoni, soppresetta, proscuitto, and sausages. Main dishes will include meats, often braised, fresh vegetables, especially tomatoes, and pastas. Sweets and desserts often use chocolate, especially dark chocolates, fresh fruits, and many forms of cookies and cakes. Fresh herbs and spices, such as basil, oregano, anise, and parsley are commonly found in most recipes. Coffees, wines, and liquors are featured in many recipes as well.

One easy authentic Italian food recipe to start with is a simple cold appetizer platter. Start with a loaf of crusty Italian bread, cut or torn into bite sized pieces. Arrange roasted red peppers that have been marinated in olive oil and garlic, pieces of pepperoni, salami, and chunks of sharp cheeses like Parmesan, and provolone on a platter. Add various types of olives, pickled vegetables, and a few clusters of grapes. This is a great start to any meal.

Authentic Italian food recipes can be found in numerous cookbooks, many of which can be found in local bookstores, at online bookstores, and other outlets. Some of these books may even be written in Italian. Search engines on the internet also provide a great amount of information and recipes. Try searching for specific terms for foods you are cooking, or use broader general terms such as "Authentic Italian food" or "Authentic Italian Cuisine" to more accurately locate websites containing the desired information. In addition to books and websites, there are many television programs that feature instructional shows illustrating Italian cooking. Italian cooking classes can be found in most areas and are another great resource for learning how to prepare Authentic Italian food recipes.
