Italian Finger Food Recipes

There are many great resources to locate all of your favorite Italian finger food recipes. Search engines are the fastest and easiest way to narrow down exactly the results you desire. Italian cookbooks also provide a great deal of appetizer choices with complete instructions on how to prepare each item.

One simple Italian finger food recipe is Crostini. This common appetizer is made by cutting pieces of crusty Italian bread into bite-sized pieces. These pieces are then brushed lightly with olive oil and toasted until golden brown. The toasted pieces of bread, crostini, are then used in dips, coated with olive, pepper, or pate spreads, or dipped in spicy tomato sauces.

Deep fried zucchini sticks make for another easy Italian finger food recipe. Simply slice a zucchini into the desired size stick, and then dip in a beaten egg. Heat oil in a deep fryer. While the oil is heating, combine some plain breadcrumbs, a pinch of salt, a pinch of oregano, and a clove of garlic that has been minced. Dip the egg coated zucchini pieces in the breadcrumb mixture, making sure to completely coat each stick. Carefully add the coated zucchini sticks to the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crunchy. Serve with a side of warm marinara sauce.

Another very popular Italian finger food recipe is for Arancini di Riso, or fried rice balls. To make these appetizers, you will need to begin with about three cups of cooked white rice. While these rice balls can be filled with a variety of fillings, cheese is most commonly found inside. Cube up about half a pound of mozzarella cheese to use for the filling. Taking small handfuls of the cooked rice, form halves of each ball by pressing in your hand and hollowing out the center. Place a cube of cheese in one half and then press the two halves together to form a ball. Coat the ball lightly with flour, dip in two beaten eggs, and then roll the ball in seasoned breadcrumbs. Repeat this process until all the rice is used up. Fry the balls in hot oil until golden brown. Serve with a side of spicy tomato sauce.

One of the simplest Italian finger food recipes is proscuitto and melon. To make this appetizer, cube up your favorite melon (cantaloupe or honey dew are the best options for this recipe) and wrap thin slices of salty proscuitto around each cube. Secure the proscuitto with a toothpick and serve.

These Italian finger food recipes are delicious, easy to make and sure to please any crowd. Enjoy!
